It is truly the best compliment when fellow photographers and image makers approach you to cover their wedding day.  Dianne, Anthony & I go way back... back to the days of project deadlines, critiques, class discussions and Mick E Fynns.  The good old days of Univeristy in the city!  The duo started dating while we were still in school and I remember thinking that they were a great match when I heard the news.  So, when they emailed to announce their engagmenet I was thrilled for them!

Julia & Rob had the perfect November day - warm weather, sunshine and even a few fall leaves left for them to wonder through.  Rob's family offered up the perfect location for photos - a family home in the area complete with antique red barn and ancient Cherry Trees.  It was the perfect compliment to their romantic indoor ceremony at Queen's Landing.
 

The most interesting weddings are always a result of couple's who put a piece of themselves into the day.  Ashley & Brian (aka Team BrAshley) stepped things up a notch to make their day personal and unique. It was whimsical, refreshing and oh-so-entertaining for their guests. 

Lauren & Amanda made their way to Ontario all the way from the sandy, sunny land of Arizona for heart-felt a marriage under the trees.  It was a day filled with support, love, laughter and yes -- a little rain.  But that didn't stop this duo and as the sun re-emerged they were wed outdoors under a canopy of fresh, green leaves.  Perfection.

Now this one was special... a unique, intimate ceremony set inside a beautiful gallery space, heartfelt speeches from family & friends, scads of dancing and whole lot of celebrating - all in honour of one truly amazing couple!  Our good friends Sara & Leah made it official and we were so honoured that they asked us to be a part of it.
 

Jackie & Mike left land of Austrailia to travel back to Toronto and celebrate their love with family & friends.  It was a stunning evening ceremony with splashes of bright yellow and grey to compliment the rustic decor of 99 Sudbury perfectly.  In love with candid coverage and excited to spend the evening partying with their loved one's this pair tied the knot in style and didn't leave out a single detail.

Vanessa & Owen lived a world apart... then, one fatefull day they met in Vegas while travelling for a work conference.  After many group-outtings and a few of those glittery memories that can only Vegas can provide, they both knew they'd found something special.  Less than a year later they were living in the same city listening to tunes on Owen's sweet turn table, and walking hand-in-hand in the east end.

I've known Sara since my days as a student at Ryerson - she ran the imaging lab at our school (think digital printing and scanning) and so there was lots of opportunity to stop in to share a laugh (or a quick hallway jig depending on our moods) and catch up with her between classes.  She's one of those truly genuine people who really listens intently when you talk and makes you feel like the only one in the room.  On the flip side, she isn't afraid to burst into hearty laughter at the drop of a hat, or create the perfect, perfect, playlist for every event & party.  Basically, she's awesome.

We can't wait to make their Bollywood in The City themed session come to life - complete with colour, love, archetecture and city it's sure to be a hit.

Well... it's finally here!  The result of a lot of work, back-and-forth, designing, coding and discussion - OUR NEW LOOK & SITE!

We're extraordinarily exicted to finally be launching this new site and have been dying to share it with you for months.  Along with our new site comes some fresh, new branding as well.  And - what's this?  Yup, a new name!  

We made the decision to stray from our beloved "Ambient Studios" title as mostly because we do not to create the
false impression that we are a boutique studio with associate shooters.  
We work together (as always) to cover your day as a team.

What's the difference?  
We're still the same duo that worked together under our previous name, just with a sleek new look!
Trevor & I continue to work together as a team to cover weddings with a candid approach and a unique merging of two styles.  

We've made the switch mainly because it's important to us that our couples understand that they will be working with us directly, every step of the way, we're a two photographer company, start to finish - there's no middle man and that's the way we like it!

So, please feel free to browse through everything and don't forget to take a peek at our fresh portfolios as well!  We would absolutely LOVE to hear from you so please leave your comments and thoughts along the way.  Since we migrated most of our content over from our new site, we've lost our old comments - so don't be shy leaving your thoughts and feedback for us!

We're stoked for the new year - our trip left us feeling refreshed, motivated and inspired - we can't wait for what 2012 has in store.

You might remember this pair from their engagement session at the lovely Flat Rock Cellars we had a blast working together prior to the wedding and were excited to team up again at The Estates of Sunnybrook for their big day.  It was an absolutely beautiful morning ceremony and lunch reception - the fall weather was just beginning to change the leaves and their outdoor marriage was gorgeous.

Pam & Kelly are an adorable pair - they make each other laugh and simply seem to be the perfect complements to each other.  With a sunny October day to greet them, and surrounded by family & friends these two planned their wedding in only half a year, and it came together wonderfully!

Every once in a while there is a couple that just clicks with us instantly... not just through their style, but through their creative careers and laid back personalities.  Kate & Ben were one such couple - from the moment our meeting began I knew we were a perfect fit. This pair brought along a hand full of their favourite photos from our website, along with some of their top picks by Magum Photographer Elliott Erwitt as inspiration.  Erwitt happens to be the photographer that I wrote my University entrance essay on... well, needless to say, it was pretty much a sealed deal. :)

Liz & Victor are an adorable pair... Their wedding was a beautiful, hot and sunny day in August - perfect for their outdoor ceremony at The Manor in Kettleby.  A sun-struck day filled with multiple dresses, tea ceremonies, dragons and a few other suprises as well!

I'm just going to begin by saying that we LOVE referrals.  It's such a great feeling when your passed clients sent their friends your way... Kevin was actually in Aya & Oscar's bridal party last year, so they knew us pretty well.  When we met with this pair again this year we instantly hit it off - Alethia has the sweetest, most bubbly personality and a crazy infectious smile.  It's easy to see what a great match they are - they're one of those couples that you can just see 'click' when you spend time with them.  It's completely sweet.

Karina & Thomas had an eventful day filled with many great traditions, dances, not one, but two ceremonies and lots of friends & family!  

We absolutely love to travel and shoot in new locations - whether it's north to Owen Sound, or across the ocean to India - we're always game and get a thrill out of exploring new areas with our clients to find the perfect photo opportunities.  Amanda & John planned an awesome day at the newly designed Cobble Beach on Georgian Bay and we had the pleasure of driving north to join them!

Ayesha & Michael are sweet, bubbly and completely easy to be around - after hearing their story we agreed to meet up with them in Peterborough (their old stomping grounds) for a sentimental session at a location that holds special meaning for them.

Last weekend Trev & I packed up our gear and headed north to meet Michele & Greg at their cottage for a snowy winter engagement session.  Was it ever worth the drive!  We had a stunning, clear, sunny day to work with AND and adorable puppy named George who kept us on our toes.
